In Sicily, it really does come down to two things: the mountains and the sea. Look one way—mountains. Turn around—sea. That’s the deal, and it never gets old.
While staying in Cefalù, we took a day to explore smaller towns like Pollina, Buon Castello, and Isnello. Each had its own personality, and together they gave us a real feel for everyday Sicilian life—unpolished, authentic, and deeply rooted.
Sicily is magical because of its landscape, the food, and most of all the people—warm, open, and welcoming in a way that feels genuine. The rocky mountains are dramatic, the light constantly shifting, the clouds rolling through, waves crashing, wind moving, sky changing. Add in the rhythm of daily life and you get a flavor that’s completely its own.
I have to come back.
