The city has a rhythm that sweeps you up and refuses to let go.

Dover, on the other hand, is quieter, rawer, and awe-inspiring in a very different way. The castle looms proudly over the town, while the cliffs plunge dramatically into the English Channel. I spent 18 hours on that channel, piloting a swimmer who actually completed the crossing. The Channel is brutal—a relentless test of endurance and willpower. It’s an experience that etches itself into your soul, a true once-in-a-lifetime challenge.

Yet, it was England’s contrasts that captured me: the vibrant streets of London, alive with history and modernity, and the stark, breathtaking cliffs of Dover, where nature reigns supreme. Both left me utterly captivated, and both made me fall in love with this remarkable country.
